After being fascinated by the music of the great American acoustic guitar masters, Italy’s Beppe Gambetta began a prolific career based on his “life on the road”, devoted to travelling, meeting and learning from artist of other cultures, as well as researching, reviving and teaching old forgotten music from the past. Through all of these experiences, Beppe was able to create his own peculiar guitar style, a poetic synthesis that reflects his work on the roots music of both sides of the Ocean.
He performed all over North America and Europe, but also in Argentina and Australia where he met scottish guitar legend Tony McManus recognized throughout the World as the leading guitarist in Celtic music, both as a solo performer or part of prestigious international projects. In Tony’s hands the complex ornamentation normally associated with fiddles and pipes are accurately transferred to guitar in a way that preserves the integrity and emotional impact of the music.
Beppe and Tony developed in the years an artistic friendship driven by the joy of learning and blending new repertoires in a rich synergy with a common passion for traditional melodies.
